Anya’s Family:

Emir - The arabic name meaning ‘prince’.
Emir is Anya’s father and a Council member. He always tries to
do what he thinks is best for Anya and tries to help her in any way
he can.
Hadia - The Arabic name meaning ‘leader’
or ‘guide’. Hadia is Anya’s mother and is a very loyal
woman who will not leave her husbands side when faced with danger.
Anya - Our main character. As many mistakes as she
makes she does manage to survive until the end. Determined and caring,
Anya feels strongly about the people she loves and will do all she can
to be with them and protect them and horses are her favourite animal.
The story leaves her affected in a way that cannot be undone until she
has the person she loves the most beside her. She is based on my friend
who told me I could never write a book and is a bit of a tomboy, just
like Anya, who loves climbing trees and riding her horse, not caring
what she looks like. Her horse, Anadil, is based on a horse that both
my friend and I used to ride at our local riding school before she moved
away and got her own horse. Although Anya is meant to be based on one
of my friends, her friends are based on some of my other friends and
part of her ends up being a little bit of me at times. All my characters
have a little bit of me in them as I find it almost impossible to create
a character otherwise.
